Catching Up

March 11, 2016
It has been a whirlwind few months here in north Louisiana!  My full time job at Louisiana Tech really ramps up during the fall/winter.  ERE has had a successful few months, with riders winning ribbons at every event we've attended!  The girls are all doing great...moving up the levels or working things out with new horses!  This spring we will have Gwen out with Frodo doing the BN, Carliss moving up to N with Lulu, Sara getting some schooling experience with Peeps while taking Taz BN, Annsley and Wolf are going BN, Emily M and Forest will do all the schooling shows at N, Doodle is making the move up to BN as well, and Frankee is going to be getting her new guy Indy going soon!   I can't tell you how exciting and rewarding it is for me to have all of these girls doing such a great job.  We may not always win ribbons, but they are riding great and improving every time!
Since last time, Big Dex sold to a great family and I can't wait to see what happens with him!  As always, we have room for 1 or 2 more horses in training if anyone is interested in partnering with Emily just get in touch!

Annsley and I will head to Meadow Creek Park in 2 weeks with Doodle in the YEH4 and Wolf in the Starter, then on to Holly Hill with 5 horses in April.  Can't wait for a great spring season!  Until next time, hug your horse and kick on!

End of Summer Post!

August 25, 2015
It has been a busy summer!  We've had some great XC schoolings, some sad retirements, and a new addition to the team.
First things first, we are all officially entered in the first show of the season at Lagniappe September 19-20!  Gwen, Annsley, Carliss, and Frankee are all doing the BN and Doodle will do the starter.  We schooled Holly Hill earlier this summer and everyone was brilliant.  Then we headed down south to school for a couple of days as one of our last outings before the horse tr...

ERE Spring Season

June 18, 2015

Seems like spring has already come and gone and we have moved on into summer here in Louisiana.  First thing up is a recap of Holly Hill.  We ended up with only 1 horse there due to mystery lameness in one of the girls horses (it’s sorted out now so be on the lookout this fall!).  Sara entered the starter division and we had a learning experience.  Silly Rico spooked at his shadow cross country that resulted in a tumble for Sara.  Super bummer, but we schooled the next day and they ran arou...

Off and Running in Louisiana

April 2, 2015
Since the last time I blogged there have been some big changes at ERE.  My full time job at La Tech is wonderful, and thanks to daylight savings time, I am able to be at the barn every afternoon.  Crescent sold to the most wonderful home I could possibly imagined for him!  He left for PA on Jan 20 and hit the ground running when he got there.  His new family is fantastic and I can't wait to see him and Lauren out kicking butt at Novice this year!  I have started teaching lessons and clinics a...

New Beginnings.....again

December 4, 2014
Hopefully this will be the last time I put that as a title for a while!  After spending the last year in Southern Oregon, we are back in the South!  While in Oregon last year, Crescent and I were not able to compete very much as the long hauls were not very cost effective.  We did do a jumper show and a schooling event which were both great!  Crescent was a very good boy at both.  I have started a job at Louisiana Tech University, so hopefully I will soon have the means to start really compet...

2013 ERE Update and a look towards 2014

February 5, 2014

So once again I was a failure at keeping this page up to date.  2013 was a very eventful but overall successful year for me and the business.  Working for Greta was one of the greatest experiences of my life.  She is such a fantastic teacher and has been there every step of the way for Crescent and I.  Unfortunately, in June my back flared up again and I got pretty extreme doctor’s orders that if I wanted to continue to ride I needed a less strenuous job.  I spent a little bit of time wallo...

New Beginnings...NY-->LA-->VA-->LA

February 1, 2013
I'm pretty sure that my New Year's resolution for 2012 was to keep this blog updated....but c'est la vie...I'll try again now that it's 2013.  As a quick update, 2012 found me leaving New York after learning a lot but not loving the weather, and moving to Virginia to work for Will Coleman.  I groomed for him and managed his barn while he was in London competing at the Olympics.  While I was there I got a call from Greta Peterson offering me the Assistant Trainer/Barn Manager position at her f...

The ups and downs of Eventing

September 25, 2011
If our sport is anything it is definitely humbling.  I was having a great week leading up to King Oak horse trials on September 11th, until I took an unexpected flying dismount from a young horse landing hard on my shoulder.  The doctor didn't find any broken bones, so off to the show I went.  Mom flew up and met us there which was a blast!  I had 2 of the best days schooling at the show grounds....he was relaxed and putting in some of the best work we've ever had.  Whats that saying about ba...

New York New York New York

September 5, 2011

So in case you were wondering…I really did make it to New York!  After 3 days of driving, driving, driving, and……….yep you guessed it…more driving, Mom, Crescent, Annabelle (my lab mix) and I made it safely to Birch Hill.  Birch Hill is a gorgeous facility.  Situated on 80 acres, it boasts a lovely 20 stall barn with attached indoor and an outdoor ring.  It also has tons of pastures and trails…even a few small cross country jumps!  Mr. Man got a warm bran mash and settled in great...

The crazy insane Spring season!

June 15, 2011
Hi everyone!  So let me start by apologizing for not updating this all spring...between competing, graduating, and accepting a new job, things have been a little on the busy side.  I'll start at the beginning and work my way to the current happenings around ERE.
After Poplar in February, we headed to Meadow Creek Park in Kosse, TX at the end of March.  I was so pumped about my first Preliminary with Crescent!  Cream was entered in the Novice as well.  Both horses settled in well and worked n...
