It has been a busy summer!  We've had some great XC schoolings, some sad retirements, and a new addition to the team.
First things first, we are all officially entered in the first show of the season at Lagniappe September 19-20!  Gwen, Annsley, Carliss, and Frankee are all doing the BN and Doodle will do the starter.  We schooled Holly Hill earlier this summer and everyone was brilliant.  Then we headed down south to school for a couple of days as one of our last outings before the horse trials.  Everyone rode like superstars...including jumping the dreaded ditches!  Frankee may have to trot Taz around the whole BN course, but other than that everyone is ready and pumped!  Doodle was very grown up and jumped his first real ditch as well as doing his first course...putting together 12 jumps is tough work for a baby horse!
Doodle jumped around his first stadium course this week and is starting to get the hang of this dressage stuff too.  He's a fancy boy and I am getting pretty excited about his future!

Our bummer of the summer is the retirement of Sara's 2 boys Batman and Rico.  The plan was always to let Bats take over from Rico sometime this fall/winter, but an injury is forcing him into a life as a pasture pet.  Rico is just too special to push, so we are all anxiously awaiting Sara's return to eventing with her new partner in crime Peeps.  Everyone watch out because this pair is going to kick some serious tail pretty soon!

The newest addition to the team is a tall, dark, and handsome boy named Dexter Lake Club.  He is a 3 y/o AP Indy grandson.  (I now have boys from my 2 favorite eventing sires)  He is 16.2h dark bay with a big blaze and 3 white socks and is an absolute cookie monster!  He is for sale and will make a great eventer one day!  This big boy is super quiet and absolutely wants to please.  He whinnies at me every day when I go to catch him....adorable!  Please contact me for more info on this guy.  We are looking to move him fairly quickly, so open to offers before a ton of time goes into him.

We are heading to a dressage show next weekend, and then hosting a "faux-show" horse trials at Covenant the next weekend as a last prep before Lagniappe.  Enjoy some pictures of our most recent happenings!

Until next time, train hard and remember to enjoy every moment because good or bad, these guys will always love you!
