The weekend of October 23-24 ERE headed to Holly Hill Horse Trials.  We had a great weekend!  Emily competed Crescent for the first time and also competed Butter Cream (a catch ride).  Crescent ran in the Senior Training and Cream competed in her first Novice.  Both horses were ready to jump, which made for some interesting dressage tests.  Crescent was in 6th after dressage on a 38.2.  Cream sat in 7th with a 42.5.  Cream show jumped a double clear, with only one deer hop caused by Emily, and was feeling great for cross country.  Crescent's cross country warm up was a new experience for Emily.  He was very up and ready to run!  Emily took her time the first few fences, then quickly caught up to the pace.  They came in with 1.6 time penalties, which was disappointing, but it was a safe and solid trip for their first event together!  Cream's cross country was early the next morning and she was a superstar!  We thought she might have trouble with the time, but boy were we wrong!  She came in 36 seconds under time and was still full of running!  She finished 4th which is more than we were even hoping for!  Emily will continue to compete her in the spring, maybe even heading to a training at the end of the season!  Crescent show jumped beautifully!  It was the smoothest round Emily has ever had!  He finished in 5th place just 1 point out of 3rd.  Emily and Crescent are heading to Pine Top Thanksgiving weekend, so stay tuned for more exciting news!  Until then, ride forward and have fun!
